It has been nearly five years since actor Rashi Singh entered Tollywood and appeared in a few Telugu films. Now, she is coming up with a notable project, Transfer Trimurthulu, where she plays the female lead opposite Vadde Naveen. Directed by debutant Kamal Teja Narla, the film is hitting screens this Friday and is produced by Vadde Naveen himself.

“I play Lakshmi, the wife of Trimurthulu, and the character feels very natural. For the first time, I acted without much makeup and appeared in a very realistic way. Though I play the mother of a child, it is not just a mother’s role. The story revolves around the Trimurthulu family,” said Rashi Singh while talking about her role and the film.

When she came to know that she would be acting opposite Vadde Naveen, she did her research about him. “I watched many of his films and learned about him. In fact, the first question I asked him was why he took such a long gap before doing this film,” she said.

Talking about her character, Rashi said Lakshmi is a supportive wife who stands by Trimurthulu in every situation. “This Lakshmi role is completely different from my real-life personality, and it was a great experience playing her. In the film, whenever we move to a new city, we come with all our luggage, but before we even unpack everything, he gets another transfer. Whenever he comes home with a piece of paper, I prepare myself thinking that he might have been transferred again. That is how my character supports him,” she explained.

“Even though she gets irritated at times, she always stands by her husband. This will be a very different role in my career,” she added.

Talking about director Kamal Teja Narla, Rashi said that despite being a debutant, he has great clarity. “He knows exactly what he wants and keeps working until he gets the output he imagined. He was very particular about how Lakshmi’s character should be portrayed and didn’t want it to deviate even slightly. He has clarity about every craft, and the journey with him was very smooth,” she said.

Speaking about her co-star Vadde Naveen, Rashi said he is a very intellectual person. “He has a lot of knowledge about the world, and if you ask him about any topic, he can share a lot of information. But when it comes to social media platforms like Instagram, he runs away from them. I tried many times to convince him to open an Instagram account,” she said.

Apart from acting, Rashi Singh has also started a food business in Hyderabad. “My restaurant business is going very well. Vadde Naveen sir used to ask me about my business activities too. When I told him about my restaurant and café business, he was surprised but encouraged me. I love food and coffee, so I started this business. My brother, who studied hotel management, is looking after my restaurant,” she said.

When asked which field she feels more comfortable in, films or business, she said she enjoys both. “I still have a lot more to achieve. Whatever I have done so far is just the beginning. I started modelling at the age of 14. I come from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh. I participated in the Miss Chhattisgarh competition and secured second place. My family came to know about it after seeing my picture in the newspaper. I was not very interested in studies initially, but I wanted to complete my education. Later, I started my career as an air hostess and chose Hyderabad as my base because I wanted to try my luck in Tollywood. Now, I am busy with films and businesses,” she shared about her journey.

Rashi also said she has no regrets about her earlier film choices. “I never took any acting courses, so I always felt that some films gave me a good opportunity to learn acting and understand the language better. Now, I can speak Telugu fluently and understand it well,” she said.

Talking about her upcoming projects, she revealed that she has worked on a film titled Gossip, which will release directly on OTT. “A few more projects are currently in the discussion stage. I want to do films with different roles and unique content. Whether it is glamorous or performance-oriented, I am ready to take up challenging roles,” said Rashi.

Finally, when asked if she watched Transfer Trimurthulu, Rashi said she only knew half the story during the shooting process. “They explained only my portions, but after watching the film, I was surprised. Naveen sir has a lot of surprises in the movie. My role looked very good on screen, and I feel I have done complete justice to it. After watching the climax twist, I felt the film was amazing. I believe it will stand out as a good film,” she concluded.
