Actor Vadde Naveen is all set to return to the big screen with Transfer Trimurthulu, which is releasing on June 19. Directed by Kamal Teja Narla and produced by Naveen himself, the film stars Rashi Singh as the female lead. Speaking about his comeback, Naveen says his wait for a good story was the reason he took a sabbatical from films. “I waited for a good story to come, and that is the reason I took such a long break. I did get offers in between, but none of them excited me,” he shares.

Observing family entertainers have become few and far between, Naveen says that was the primary reason why he chose Transfer Trimurthulu. “Family entertainers have become rare in recent times. When the director came up with this story, I decided to do it. It is a different kind of film that breaks away from the hero vs villain template,” he adds.

Naveen plays a constable named Trimurthulu in the film. “He fights against his own system, because of which he gets transferred many times. On his 55th transfer, something unexpected happens, and what happened after that and how he handled the case form the story,” he explains the plot.

The actor claims that he was free of pressure about the story as director Kamal Teja worked on the script for nearly a year. “The research part is taken care of by the director. There are a couple of action scenes, but they come naturally through the story," says Naveen, as he observes that the production costs have risen astronomically since he made his last film. “Technically, there have been a lot of changes. The process of making a film remains the same, but the cost of production has definitely increased,” he says.

He adds that he was always interested in facing the camera and not sitting idle at home. “I wanted to come in front of the camera every day and didn’t want to take a break, but I didn’t get the kind of story I was looking for,” he says, adding that Rashi Singh too has a very interesting role in the film and that she is not relegated to a mere eye-candy role.

Naveen expresses confidence that audiences will appreciate the film. “After watching Transfer Trimurthulu, people will definitely say that Naveen has done a good film after a long time,” he said. On signing off, he also reveals that Zee has bagged the digital rights for the film. “These days, the OTT business is not that easy. We showed the film to Zee, and they liked it and bought the rights."
