After the successful box office performance of Gatta Kusthi 2, Vishnu Vishal is gearing up for his next release. The actor will next be seen in Irandu Vaanam, directed by Ram Kumar. The film is slated for an October 23 release in theatres. Ahead of the release, it has landed a distributor for the Kerala region: Binu George Alexander Productions. The film has a strong Kerala connection to it, with Mamitha Baiju playing the female lead.
Mamitha Baiju is on a career high following her back-to-back blockbusters: Jana Nayagan, Vishwanathan and Sons, and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. She has become only the third actress from India to have three consecutive 250-plus crore grossers in the same year, following Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt. The actor has also gained much critical appreciation for her performances in Vishwanathan and Sons as an energetic girl named Maddy and as a woman named Ashley, who is head over heels in love with an older man, in Bethlehem Kudumba Unit.
Coming back to Irandu Vaanam, the upcoming film brings Vishnu Vishal back together with director Ram Kumar after collaborations on 2014's Mundasupatti and 2018's Ratsasan. It is produced by Sendhil Thyagaran and Arjun Thyagarajan under the Sathya Jyothi Films banner, as well as being presented by TG Thyagarajan.
The film follows Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju's characters, and it promises to offer an engaging combination of elements such as romance, emotions, and fantasy. Recently, Sathya Jyothi Films described its story as one that explores "love in its most purest, intense form."
On the technical front, the film has composer Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematographer Dinesh K Babu, editor San Lokesh, art director A Gopi Anand, and stunt choreographer Vicky. The film has been shot across scenic locations, which include Kodaikanal.
