

Karthik Subbaraj is gearing up for the September 25 release of his next film Dorothy, starring Keerthy Suresh, Sananth, and Rishikanth in the lead roles. Recently, the makers of the film dropped its first song, titled 'Kalyana Virundhu,' which has lyrics and composition by Ilaiyaraaja. On Friday, director Karthik Subbaraj revealed what the legendary composer told him about the film after viewing it.
The filmmaker wrote, "I showed the first cut of Dorothy to Raaja sir and was eagerly looking at him awaiting what's he gonna say.After few moments of silence he looked at me and said 'Beautiful film... Let's start work from tomorrow morning'. I was so so excited and was processing the fact that Raaja sir agreed to compose for my film and that's when Raaja sir said 'The Background score should be released as an album before the release of the film.'"
Karthik also said that he made it a point to release the original soundtrack from the film, nicknamed a 'Raaja Sambavam,' before the film's release upon the composer's request. "My mind voice was... 'Rightu...Appo Sambavam Confirm... ' and here we are now... Raaja Bliss - Dorothy OST releasing tomorrow digitally and also in limited Vinyl records," the director shared. He also revealed that the soundtrack for the film will be performed as a 40-minute-long concert at Image Auditorium in RA Puram, Chennai. "It's gonna be a Pure Ilaiyaraaja Sir Bliss," the filmmaker shared.
Dorothy is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain. The film is backed by the banners Sikhya Entertainment and Dhammam Films, and it is presented by Sikhya and Jio Studios. It has an additional screenplay by Saravanan Chandran. Its technical team includes cinematographer S Thirunavukkarasu, editor Ganesh Siva, and stunt director Dinesh Subbarayan.
