The makers of Sardar 2 have unveiled the official trailer for the film, at a launch event held in Chennai. Starring Karthi and SJ Suryah in lead roles, the upcoming film is set to release on September 10.
The trailer focuses on the titular character, and his story which leads to the events of the first film, Sardar (2022). Karthi, who reprises his dual role as father and son, appears as a younger version of Chandra Bose aka Sardar, who is a Murugan devotee recruited to conduct a black ops operation, which goes wrong. The rest of the film is hinted to connect Sardar's mission with his son Vijay Prakash's (Karthi) story.
Malavika Mohanan, Ashika Ranganath, Yogi Babu, Achyuth Kumar, Balaji Sakthivel, and Rajisha Vijayan are part of the cast of the film.
Music for Sardar 2 is composed by Sam CS. The soundtrack will feature lyrics by Nambi, Lavita Lobo, Imbachi, and Zeba Tommy. The crew of Sardar 2 also includes director of photography George C Williams, editor Vijay Velukutty, art directors MSP Madhavan and B Sekar, stunt choreographers Dhilip Subbarayan and Chethan D'souza.
Sardar 2 is produced by S Lakshman Kumar and Ishan Saksena, with A Venkatesh on board as the co-producer. The banners backing the film are Prince Pictures and Ivy Entertainment.
