Nayanthara is gearing up for the November 06 release of Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C from a screenplay with dialogues by Venkatt Ragavan. Ahead of the release, her co-star Regena Cassandra shared a massive cutout of Nayanthara on social media and expressed her admiration for the superstar. “This day is going down in history. I was told that Nayan is the first ever actress to have a cut out of this magnitude prior to a film release in Tamil Nadu.. That’s a 60 feet feat indeed! Call it the will to succeed, call it manifestation, call it whatever you may. It’s admirable and I’m in awe,” Regena shared on X. The cutout is located at a Vels Theatres location. Nayanthara appears in multiple get-ups in the upcoming film, including as the titular Goddess and as a police officer.
Sundar C's film is a bigger and more spectacle-oriented follow-up to the rather talkie first part Mookuthi Amman, directed by RJ Balaji and also starring him with Nayanthara. Regena plays a powerful antagonist going up against Nayanthara in the film.
Besides the two actors, the upcoming film stars Duniya Vijay, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Maina Nandini, Garuda Ram, Abhinaya, Shruthy S, Singapuli Annavi, VR Swaminathan, Sivakumar S, Sunil Varma Indukuri, Varshini Venkat, Pala Karuppiah, Ananda Adhista Lakshmi, Nitin Sathyaa, and Deblina Chaki.
Mookuthi Amman 2 is produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh under his Vels Film International banner. It has Khushbu Sundar, Kushmitha Ganesh, Ishan Saksena, and Vignesh Shivan serving as co-producers. The makers call it “a divine cinematic spectacle like never before,” offering a blend of “breath-taking visuals, timeless devotion, and the ultimate power of Goddess Mahasakthi.”
On the technical front, the film has music by Hiphop Tamizha, cinematography by Gopinath Venugopal, action choreography by Rajasekar K, and editing by Fenny Oliver.
