Earlier this Sunday, we reported about Suriya gifting a Mahindra BE6 model car to the cinematographer of his film, Karuppu, as a sign of gratitude to his work on the blockbuster. Subsequently, music director Sai Abhyankkar also received a similar gift. The composer shared on social media a picture featuring him standing next to a Mahindra BE6 car. In the caption, Sai wrote, "Love you dear Suriya sir."
Karuppu has become a massive success at the box office; according to an official announcement from the makers, SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has earned more than 300 crore from theatres worldwide.
Suriya is known to be generous not just with his team but with those from the film industry in general. Recently, he and Jyotika sent personalised gift cards to the cast and crew of Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. They also sent a similar present to Nazriya Nazim before she joined the set of their film with Aavesham filmmaker, Jithu Madhavan.
Coming back to Karuppu, while there has been some criticism for the film for its writing, an element that everyone has praised in unison is Sai Abhyankkar's music in it. The background score and the songs in the film contributed to the success of the film at the box office. The Karuppu album has popular tracks such as 'Verappa' and 'God Mode,' among others.
Besides Suriya, the film stars Trisha, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, Natty, Sshivada, Swaswika, and Supreeth Reddy, among others.
