After the blockbuster success of Karuppu, there has been a general feeling within the industry that Suriya is back and that he will be an unstoppable force at the box office going forward. Part of this perception boils down to the fact that Vijay has quit cinema for a full-time career in politics. Consequently, there is much focus on Suriya's upcoming projects. The actor already has two films at different stages of production: Vishwanath and Sons with director Venky Atluri and co-star Mamitha Baiju and a film with Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan that also stars Nazriya Nazim and Naslen.
The latest buzz is that Suriya might also work with director Pandiraaj next. At a promotional event for his next film with Pandiraaj, titled Parimala and Co, Jayaram said that the superstar might feature in the filmmaker's next film.
"He has written the screenplay for this film a long time before. I think he is planning to start his next film with Suriya; before that, he decided to do a film such as this all of a sudden and Urvashi and I landed it eventually," Jayaram said about his journey with Parimala and Co.
Best known for his directorial debut, Pasanga, Pandiraaj is coming with Parimala and Co off the back of the well-received Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, among others.
Produced by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions, Parimala and Co stars Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh Sobhan, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and Ananthika Sanilkumar, among others. The film is slated for a June 05 release in theatres.
