On how he hoped the film would mark a turning point in his career, he said, "The film didn't fail; I failed. I generally never keep high hopes for anything in life. But I kept a lot of my faith and trust in Kanguva. I thought the film would change the game for me, and I would finally be recognised as a great actor. But I was dejected when nobody realised I acted in it. Before the release, I hyped the film so much at home, describing it as the one that was going to change our lives."

Bose Venkat continued that the film's failure was not predictable. "The producer, director and even Suriya really believed the film would work. I keep wondering why the film didn't work. Just as Vijay sir's victory could not be predicted, this film's failure also could not be predicted. While I was narrated the story, it was brilliant. Every shot we took was fantastic. But the very first show of the film rendered it a flop."

Kanguva follows Francis Theodore, a bounty hunter in 2024, whose bond with a child is mysteriously linked to a vow made by a fierce tribal warrior to a young boy in the year 1070. As per reports, the film barely earned half its budget at the box office.

Bose Venkat's Brothers and Sisters, in which he stars as a family man with an affair, is all set to premiere on JioHotstar on May 27. In the pipeline, he also has Chellamada Nee Enakku.
