Earlier this Sunday, we reported about the passing of producer K Rajan, also known for his work in Tamil cinema as an actor, writer, and director. The film industry is mourning his passing, which is reportedly an act of suicide. Rajan made his directorial debut in 1991 with Namma Ooru Mariamma, starring Nizhalgal Ravi and Sarath Kumar.

Taking to social media, Sarath Kumar said that he is shocked and deeply pained by the news about the passing of K Rajan, who also write the actor's 1991 film Thangamana Thangachi. "Such an unexpected decision by this veteran producer, who had established his place in Tamil cinema since 1980, is a great loss to the Tamil film industry. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family members, relatives, friends, and everyone in the Tamil film fraternity who are grieving because of his passing. I pray that his soul rests in peace," Sarath Kumar wrote.

On the other hand, actor Khushbu Sundar wrote, "Terrible news. Deeply shocked to hear about the demise of our beloved member of film fraternity, producer K. Rajan Sir. He passing away by suicide is extremely saddening. Very respectful person and a man who never hesitated to call a spade a spade. Very very upsetting. May his soul rest in peace."

Meanwhile, actor Vishal said, "Just heard the news of k Rajan sir s demise. Shocking to hear that he committed suicide. A bold speaker. Been the president of the distributor an association. Sad to hear this news. May his soul rest in peace. God bless."

Rajan is the brother-in-law of producer Ishari K Ganesh, the chairman of Vels Film International. Responding to the news, Ishari K Ganesh wrote, "Deeply saddened by the demise of Producer K. Rajan sir. A man who always stood strong for Tamil cinema with honesty, courage, and passion, his words and contributions will continue to be remembered by the industry and audiences alike. My heartfelt prayers and condolences to his family, friends, and the entire film fraternity. May his soul rest in peace."

Rajan is survived by his filmmaker son, KR Prabhu.
