Recently, at an event, a reporter asked Malavika Mohanan a question that she found objectionable. The actor was asked whether "she plans to accompany Vijay no matter where he goes, just like Trisha does." For the unversed, it has long been alleged that Trisha and Vijay are in a relationship. Malavika immediately responded to the question, laughing it off and asking what relevance it has to her appearance at an event and to her equation with Vijay.
A video of the conversation has surfaced online. Earlier this Saturday, Malavika Mohanan offered a clarification on the incident. "I went for an event yesterday, and while I have the utmost regard for all the journalists and members of the Tamil Nadu media, a couple of them persistently asked some very distasteful questions that were completely unnecessary and sensational," the actor wrote. She added, "I would really appreciate it if future media interactions could be kept respectful and considerate for the sake of everyone involved."
Malavika also reiterated her admiration and affection for Vijay, with whom she starred in Master. "Thalapathy Vijay is someone I’ve known for the past seven years, someone I have a lot of respect for, and someone I’m grateful to call a friend. Watching his journey has been nothing short of incredible," the actor wrote.
During the interaction with the media, Malavika was also asked about her opinion about the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's newly formed government. In response, the actor said that Vijay has taken charge as the CM only recently and suggested that it is too early to comment on it. "He is a very close friend of mine. So I'm very happy for his victory. And I wish him all the best," Malavika said.
On the work front, Malavika Mohanan's upcoming films include Sardar 2 with Karthi and director PS Mithran, and Pocket Novel with director Thiagarajan Kumararaja and co-star Vijay Sethupathi.
