Actor-politician Vijay has gone on to secure his victory at his first contest in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, after contesting in two constituencies. The actor who first announced his political entry in 2024, has become the leader of the party with the major vote in TN.
According to sources, actor racecar driver Ajith Kumar has called up Vijay to congratulate the latter on his victory in the polls.
While Ajith Kumar and Vijay have always been professional rivals, the actors have also shared screen in a single film, Rajavin Parvaiyile (1995), early in their acting careers.
Previously, film personalities like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Vikram, Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Kajal Aggarwal, Jiiva, and more conveyed their wishes for Vijay.
In 2024, Vijay announced his foray into politics, and announced that he would be contesting under his then newly formed party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.
