Actor Bharath's film Kaalidas 2 is set for its theatrical release on April 3. In an interview with Cineulagam, Bharath was asked about the impact of a film's failure despite the hard work were put into it. The actor explained, "The release date is the main factor for any movie. At the time of the Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (2013) release, there was an issue surrounding Vijay sir's film Thalaivaa (2013). Usually, if Vijay sir's film is coming out, we plan our release at least two weeks later, and that’s what we also did. However, when we were informed just two or three days before the release date that Thalaivaa movie wouldn’t be released due to those issues, my producers immediately announced our new date and released the film. So publicity is so important; people need to know a film is coming out before they can. Unless you are someone like Vijay sir, who doesn't even need an announcement, the audience will show up just for him; the rest of us need proper promotion. and that was the minus for our film,"
He further explained that timing and publicity are often more important than the content itself, saying, "Regarding the movie itself, it was a great pleasure working with Sasi sir. It was a huge learning process for me; I worked with him for a year and a half, and he is one of the best creators out there. He spent two and a half years working on that project, but everything ended so quickly with the Friday show. The audience didn't even know the movie had arrived. Those who saw it liked it, but because of the timing and other movies taking over the screens, it didn't reach many audiences. Later, when it came on TV, people saw it, made memes about my six-pack, and appreciated the work. But ultimately, the release date, the way you announce it, and publicity are important for a film’s success."
Kaalidas 2, directed by Sri Senthil is set for its theatrical release on April 3. The film also stars Bhavani Sre, Abarnathi, Ajay Karthi, Ananth Nag, Sangeetha, Prakash Raj, Kishore, Singam Jayavel and TM Karthik Srinivasan.
