Karthik Subbaraj's next film as a producer is Neelira. The thriller film, directed by Somatheeran, is also backed by Rana Daggubati, with a theatrical release set for April 3.
Speaking at promotional event for the film, director-producer Karthik said, "Initially my dream was to make films. Then I wanted to produce films, hence we established Stone Bench. We came forward to back the films which spoke about the subjects which we wanted to speak about," said the director.
He added, "Usually in films backed by Stone Bench, I would be credited as a presenter, with Kaarthekeyen Santhanam being credited as a producer. For the first time I wished for my name to be credited as a producer too. It is that kind of a film."
The cast of Neelira also includes Naveen Chandra, Vidhu, Kapila Venu, Sanath, Roopa Koduvayur, Rohit D Kokate, Kayal Vincent, Swathy Krishnan, Tharmeega Manimaran and Sidhu Kumaresan, among others. K, who has composed music for Mysskin's Mugamoodi, is composing music for the upcoming film.
