Con City is off to a slow but steady start. After three days at the box office, the Arjun Das-Anna Ben-led comedy entertainer is nearing the Rs 5 crore mark globally. Directed by debutant Harish Durairaj, the film earned Rs 75 lakhs on its first day, which slightly increased to Rs 1.2 crore on Saturday. On Sunday, it once again registered Rs 1.3 crore, bringing the total India collections to Rs 3.28 crore. But it looks like the film is slowly picking up in terms of theatrical footfall and is expected to earn much more in the upcoming week.
Besides Arjun Das and Anna Ben, Con City also stars Yogi Babu, Vadivukkarasi, Akhilan, Nanda Gopal, VTV Ganesh, Dheepa Ramanujam, Radha Ravi, Arul Doss, Shaji Chen, Thambi Ramaiah, Ramesh Thilak, Baradwaj Rangan, Imman Annachi, Madan Dakshinamoorthy, Ponvannan, Ragu Esaki, Sathanand and others.
The film has Arjun Das leading a motley crew, including Yogi Babu, Anna Ben, and Vadivukkarasi's characters, on a con mission for money.
An excerpt of our CE review of the film read, "Con City has all the ingredients for a wholesome family entertainer. We have a motley crew of people, all weathered down by unfair circumstances, finally taking control by banding together to take the system for a ride by orchestrating large-scale scams. The film makes the best use of the ‘found family’ trope, and kudos to director Harish Durairaj for not extracting sappy melodrama with over-the-top romance or family sentiment."
On the technical team, Con City has music by Sean Roldan, cinematography by Aravind Viswanathan, editing by Arulmoses A and art direction by Raj Kamal. The film is produced by Power House Pictures in their maiden venture in association with M&M Movie Makers and Klout Studios.
