With Vijay celebrating his first birthday after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, wishes have been pouring in for the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief from top leaders of the country and various states.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his birthday greetings for Vijay as he celebrates his 52nd birthday. In his X post, he wrote, "Birthday greetings to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay Ji. I pray for his long and healthy life." Former Chief Minister and DMK Chief MK Stalin followed it up with his heartfelt wishes, saying, "I wish you the strength to continue serving the public with joy and physical-mental well-being."

Leader of Opposition and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who made a coalition with Vijay for him to stake claim to the CM seat, too shared similar greetings for him. Besides wishing him good health and success in his endeavours, Rahul Gandhi said that he stands with him in "defending the rights, dignity, and aspirations of the Tamil people, and in working together for the state’s progress."

MNM Chief and fellow actor Kamal Haasan shared a picture with Vijay and called him his "beloved younger brother" before sharing his birthday wishes.

YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called Vijay his "brother" and said, "May you be blessed with good health and success in all your endeavors."

Actor Raghava Lawrence, who was recently in the headlines for announcing his entry to politics, also posted his wishes for his "friend", saying, "Every year, I wish my Nanba a happy birthday. But this year it’s extra special and I’m happy to say, Happy Birthday to Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu!" While he has not confirmed which political party he would be joining, speculations are rife about his entry to TVK and contest in the Trichy East constituency that was won by Vijay during the recent assembly elections. He contested in Perambur as well as Trichy, but had to resign from the latter in the days leading up to his oath taking ceremony.

Vijay made his grand entry to politics in 2024 and quickly rose to become a formidable party within two years. During the recent assembly elections, TVK made a historic debut, securing 108 seats and became the largest single bloc. He later formed a coalition government by securing the support of the Indian National Congress, VCK, IUML, CPI, and CPI-M, bringing their total support to 120 legislators. Vijay took oath as the ninth chief minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10 in a historic swearing-in ceremony at a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, bringing an end to nearly six decades of dravidian duopoly.
