Vijay Sethupathi's film Train with director Mysskin has been delayed for quite a while now. The film commenced production back in 2023 and completed filming in the subsequent year. However, the film's release has long been in limbo.
Meanwhile, earlier this Thursday, Vijay Sethupathi revealed that Vijay Television has been attached to the film as its satellite partner. The actor expressed his pride to make the announcement, fuelling both speculation and curiosity about its release. Train's producer Kalaippuli S Thanu of V Creations also echoed the actor's sentiment.
It is worth noting that Star Vijay, also known as Vijay Television, is the channel that broadcasts Bigg Boss Tamil, of which Vijay Sethupathi serves as a host. The actor replaced Kamal Haasan as the host of Bigg Boss in Tamil in 2024 for its eight season, and he is set to return for the upcoming tenth season.
Coming back to Train, the upcoming film also stars Narain, Nasser, Shruti Haasan, KS Ravikumar, Yugi Sethu, Ira Dayanand, Preethy Karan, Sampath Raj, and Kalaiyarasan, among others. It brings Mysskin and Narain back together after collaborations on films such as Chithiram Pesuthadi (2006), Anjathe (2008), and Mugamoodi (2012).
Mysskin has not had any of his directorial ventures released in theatres since 2020's Psycho. Since then, he has been more active in South Indian cinema as an actor, starring in films such as Maaveeran, Dragon, Love Insurance Kompany, and Parimala and Co, among others. Mysskin's upcoming films as an actor also include I'm Game, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan and Antony Varghese. Directed by Nahas Hidhayath of RDX fame, I'm Game marks Mysskin's debut in Malayalam cinema.
On the technical front, Train has cinematography by Fowzia Fathima and editing by Sri Watson, with Mysskin himself doubling up as its composer.
