On Saturday, Anirudh dropped a promo for the video of his upcoming independent song, and on Sunday, he shared a link to the audio version of the track. Titled 'Aravindh,' it veers into the pop genre and boasts lyrics by Super Subu. 'Aravindh' brings Anirudh and Super Subu back together after collaboration on 'Hukum' for 2023's Rajinikanth starrer Jailer. The song is available in both Telugu and Tamil, and it blends melodic tunes with catchy hooks and rapid-fire lyrics.
It also marks the first song for the singer-composer's music label, Albuquerque Records, after its partnership with Universal Music India came into effect. Prior to its release, the promotional campaign for the song used cryptic, anticipation-inducing text, such as "Who is Aravindh?" and "Aravindh will meet you tomorrow".
More than the song itself, what has caught the eye of the audience and induced their ire is the fact that it has choreography by Jani Master. Ever since he shared a link to the song audio, Anirudh has been facing much criticism for working with Jani Master. For the unversed, Jani Master is out on conditional bail after his arrest according to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) act. He has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by a minor.
Criticising his decision, many users left comments asking why the singer-composer chose to collaborate with Jani Master, considering the latter's history as a MeToo accused in a POSCO case. The criticism is more intense, especially because the collaboration involves the singer-composer's own musical label, and it is not like the two worked for a project produced by a different company.
The singer is yet to respond to the criticism for his collaboration with the choreographer.
