Vijay Antony is currently on a promotional spree for his upcoming film Nooru Saami, directed by Sasi, which marks his reunion with the Pichaikkaran filmmaker after ten years. The actor, who has been active in the composing, singing and producing space for decades now, has opened up on his desire to settle down in a village within the next two or three years and live a simple life.

During a recent press interaction, Vijay Antony shared his fondness for a simple way of life when probed about his character in Nooru Saami where he plays a farmer. "I have always preferred a simple lifestyle. I am living in Chennai only because of my profession. Just as Sridhar Vembu sir (founder of Zoho Corporation) moved and settled in Tenkasi, I too plan to settle in a place like Pollachi within the next two or three years," he said.

He further noted how he has been actively pursuing this dream by looking for a land in a village. "We shot this film in Kallakurichi, and I absolutely loved the atmosphere there. I genuinely wish to live a village life," he added, emphasising the perks of choosing such a life. "People in villages often think of moving to cities because of malls and other attractions, but there is really nothing special here. Villages have fresh air, a strong sense of community, and a peaceful environment without the hustle and bustle of city life. The life that village people lead is truly a good life," he said.

Based on a true incident, the makers described Nooru Saami as "a journey of blood, sweat, and bonds." It is to be noted that the film's title is taken from the eponymous song from Pichaikkaran.

Besides Vijay Antony and Swasika as the female lead, Nooru Saami will also star Lijomol Jose and Vijay Antony's nephew Ajay Dhishan in important roles. Sakthi and Kavya Anil are also a part of the film's cast.

Nooru Saami is slated for release in theatres on June 19.
