The trailer launch of the Vijay Antony-starrer Maargan took place recently, with Vijay Antony, Brigida Saga, director Leo John Paul, and several other celebrity guests. The film, which is set to release on June 27, is the directorial debut of Leo John Paul, who has worked as an editor on several Tamil films.
In his speech, Vijay Antony went on to say, "There are no sincere people like Leo. He will be ten times more sincere than anyone and will make them put in as much effort as him. Even in films, where he works as an editor, people would get confused as to who the director is, as Leo is that passionate."
Vijay Antony also addressed his break from composing music, advising Leo by saying, "Don't make the mistake I made when I started acting. Continue working as an editor even after this film's release, because you are a talented editor."
He went on to credit director Sasi for one of his earliest films, Dishyum. Vijay Antony also credited Sasi for his encouragement on Pichaikkaran. He said, "Even if I go on to do 1000 films, it wouldn't compare to Pichaikkaran. He (Sasi) introduced me as a music director, and ten years later he instilled confidence in me to be an actor."
Vijay Antony also confirmed that he would collaborate with Sasi next. He appreciated Sasi for giving his co-star enough screen space by saying, "I want to thank you for giving Ajay (Dhishan) an equal role in that film."
Maargan, which was earlier titled Gagana Maargan, also stars Samuthirakani, Mahanati Shankar, and Prithika, amongst others.
