Actor Raashii Khanna stars with Rajinikanth in the upcoming film Dharman, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu of Dragon fame. Earlier this Friday, Raashii revealed that she recently received "a thoughtful gift" from the Superstar, a copy of Living with the Himalayan Masters from author Swami Rama.
In a video, Raashii said, "This book Living with the Himalayan Masters found me in a very special way. I was on the sets of Dharman shooting with Rajinikanth sir, and during one of our conversations, we ended up talking about spirituality. He asked me if I read this book. I hadn't. Two days later, he brought a copy and gifted it to me."
Raashii Khanna also said that she has been reading the book "diligently" over the past few weeks, half-jokingly mentioning that the Superstar also told her that he would even 'test' her knowledge of it. Saying that she is already in love with the book, the actor revealed that it has portions that make her pause and reflect on the musings in the book.
Raashii mentioned one such motivational thought in the book that resonated with her. She read it out for the audience: "Many people are unable to face certain things in themselves. They refuse to confront those conflicts, desires and habits that they may not like in themselves but can't get rid of. They don't allow others to know their real selves and continue to put forward defenses and pretenses. These hidden secrets only delay our progress. We project onto others the very things we won't face. And that is where meditation comes in."
Speaking of which, Rajinikanth is known for his spiritual sojourns to the Himalayas, where he visits to meditate and find some inner peace amidst or after his film projects. Fans and well wishers often appreciate the actor's simplicity during these visits as well, especially his use of simple clothes and his tendency to interact with the locals in and around the Himalayas.
