Ever since the promo song from Soori's upcoming film Mandaadi, titled 'Mandaadi Mandaadi' dropped, the actor has been receiving tremendous praise for honing his dancing skills along with showcasing incredible fitness through his moves. Many users had also showered appreciation on Soori, reflecting on the growth of the comedian-turned-lead actor.
Soori has now reacted to the comments, expressing his gratitude to fans and film enthusiasts. "Initially, Mandaadi promo song was placed in the film, but we want to use it as a promo song. When they raised concerns about the budget, I suggested if we could make it as a dance number. I wanted to rehearse before going for the shoot. So, I practised for four hours on two days and after gaining confidence, I went on the floor. The more the expectations and responsibilities are placed on me, I feel a lot more fear. I am not able to move away from these commitments citing my fear. How can I keep saying that I don't know? I know this is not my best, but I will aim for it," he explained.
Soori also shared his happiness on getting a ton of phone calls after the song released. "This is the first time that I am getting a lot of calls after the release of a song. Everyone keeps reflecting on my career and transformation. I was ecstatic," he added.
As reported earlier, Telugu actor Suhas plays the antagonist in the film which stars Soori as the leader of a fishing expedition team. A sports action drama, it is written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi of Selfie fame. Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Bala Saravanan and Achyuth Kumar also star in prominent roles in the upcoming film.
Sachana Namidass, Ravindra Vijay, Ramachandran, and Aadukalam Murugadoss round out the cast of Mandaadi.
The film's technical crew comprises music composer GV Prakash, cinematographer SR Kathir, editor Pradeep E Ragav and stunt choreographer Peter Hein.
Mandaadi is slated to hit theatres on September 4. Apart from Tamil, the film will also release in Telugu.
