Telugu actor Suhas is all set to make his Tamil debut with Mandaadi. Starring Soori in the lead, the film is directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendi and produced by Elred Kumar, who is also presenting it under the RS Infotainment banner.
The makers had earlier unveiled the film's promotional content, which generated good buzz and piqued the curiosity of audiences. The latest update is that Mythri Movie Distributors has acquired the Telugu distribution rights and will release the film across the Telugu states.
The striking character transformations of Soori and Suhas have already grabbed attention, while the makers are confident that the film's high-octane action sequences and stunning visuals will be among its biggest highlights. The much-talked-about boat action sequence, which has already been teased, is expected to be one of the film's major attractions.
Mandaadi is slated for a worldwide release on September 10 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. The Telugu version will be distributed across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana by Mythri Movie Distributors LLP, ensuring a grand release in the Telugu states.
The film also stars Mahima Nambiar as the female lead, alongside Sathyaraj, Ravindra Vijay, Mithun, Bala Saravanan and others in key roles.
The story of Mandaadi is inspired by real-life incidents and is set against the backdrop of traditional boat racing in coastal Tamil Nadu. The team extensively shot the film along the seashore, describing it as one of the most challenging parts of the production. Interestingly, Mandaadi refers to the leader of a fishing expedition team that participates in these traditional sailing boat races.
The music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while SR Kathir is the cinematographer. DRK Kiran serves as the production designer, Pradeep E Ragav is the editor, and the action sequences have been choreographed by Peter Hein, Dileep Subbarayan and Mahesh Mathew.
