Producer Raahul A of Romeo Pictures has shared an anecdote about Ajith Kumar that, according to him, reflects the actor's respect for both his fans and fellow actor Vijay.

Speaking in a recent interview, Raahul recalled working with Ajith during the shooting of Viswasam in Pune. He revealed that Ajith had known for a while that Raahul was an ardent Vijay fan. During the Vivegam shoot, the actor had apparently asked him about the kind of films he watched, to which Raahul had replied that he never missed a Vijay release on its opening day. "I always watch Vijay sir's films on the first day," he had told Ajith, though he admitted he had forgotten about the conversation later.

According to Raahul, the incident unfolded when Sarkar was gearing up for its Diwali release in 2018, while the Viswasam team was filming in Pune. The crew had initially discussed sending Ajith home to Chennai for the festival while the technicians continued shooting. However, Ajith refused the idea. Recalling the actor's response, Raahul said Ajith told him, "When all these technicians and lightmen are staying here and working, how can I alone go to Chennai and celebrate Diwali? I'll celebrate it here with everyone."

Raahul confessed that his own concern at the time was missing the first-day-first-show of Sarkar. He had even booked tickets in Pune after realising he would not be able to watch the film in Chennai, as he usually did.

The producer said he was then taken by surprise when the next day's shooting schedule was suddenly advanced to 6 am, clashing with his morning show booking. Thinking Ajith was pulling his leg, Raahul offered to shift the shoot back to the afternoon. Instead, Ajith reportedly put his arm around him and said, "Your thalaivar's film is releasing tomorrow. You should be the first one inside the theatre." He then added, "Your thalaivar is my friend too. I'll come with you. Let's both go and watch Sarkar together."

Raahul said he was overwhelmed by the gesture, describing the prospect of watching Vijay's film alongside Ajith as "double Diwali." Although the show had sold out, he eventually managed to arrange additional tickets through the multiplex without revealing that Ajith would be attending.
