A day ahead of the release of Pari Elavazhagan's sophomore directorial and acting venture Anbe Diana, actor Sivakarthikeyan caught the film and praised the romantic entertainer.
Million Dollar Studios, which is backing Anbe Diana, shared photos of the cast including Pari, Ramya Ranganathan and 'Parithabangal'-fame Gopi meeting Sivakarthikeyan and said, "Nothing is more rewarding than receiving heartfelt appreciation from someone you truly look up to Our favourite star, dearest Sivakarthikeyan watched Anbe Diana and embraced it with so much love Thank you sir, for your wholehearted appreciation and encouragement to the entire team. It means more than words can express."
This is particularly special for the director as he had previously expressed his admiration for the actor-producer, noting how he entered the industry after looking up to Sivakarthikeyan. Calling him his inspiration, Pari Elavazhagan said, "I entered the cinema industry, looking at Sivakarthikeyan's growth here. He is my inspiration. I would want to work with him in the near future, either on a fun film or a genre that he hasn't explored before, like a gangster movie."
The film stars Pari Elavazhagan as a happy-go-lucky youngster who gets into a romantic relationship with an Anglo-Indian woman (Ramya Ranganathan). The trailer suggests that Pari Elavazhagan and Ramya's characters are caught between two families whose elders force them to adopt practises from their religion. His mother wants Ramya to take on Hindu practises, whereas her father wants him to choose Christian rituals for the marriage. Anbe Diana also stars Roja Selvamani, and Chetan in prominent roles.
The film opens in theatres on Friday.
