Sivakarthikeyan is the latest in the long line of celebrities who went to meet CM Vijay after he took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The actor-producer, who gave bouquets and wished his fellow actor for a successful tenure, also got nostalgic in his social media posts, looking back at the rise of the star.

Sivakarthikeyan recalled his time hosting award shows as an anchor where Vijay would be present, and reflected on their parallel growth in the industry over the years. He further recollected the time, they shared screenspace in Venkat Prabhu's 2024 film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) where Sivakarthikeyan's cameo appearance created quite a splash on social media. "From entertaining hearts to leading the state… some journeys are truly extraordinary. It was an honour to greet our Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay sir. From Rasigan Express, to the Vijay Awards stage, to sharing the screen in GOAT… and now, this moment with you, sir. This will always be the most special," he said on his X handle, underlining that their brotherhood and bond will continue.

Photos of the meeting have been going viral across social media. For the unversed, when Vijay and Sivakarthikeyan shared screen in GOAT, a scene where Vijay passes a gun to Sivakarthikeyan to hold Rajiv Menon (Actor Mohan) hostage, it was interpreted as him handing over the baton of the next big actor to the Amaran star. It sparked a flurry of reactions from social media users.

Asserting that no one can replace the legacy of Vijay, he stated in an earlier interview, "For more than 30 years, Vijay has worked to entertain the people. That can't be replaced. From there, I see one point alone. Vijay has seen my work for over a decade so I thought it is an appreciation from him like saying, 'Boy you are foing really well.' So I saw it as though he was saying, 'Do well. Continue this'."

On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi. He recently backed debutant Sivakumar Murugesan's Thaai Kizhavi which became a massive hit and is currently working with him in Seyon, his second directorial. Meanwhile, CM Vijay's much-delayed Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth, recently cleared censorship formalities with an A certificate and is slated to release in theatres on July 23.
