Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who is expecting her first child with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, has opened up about entering motherhood, calling it a phase she has "been waiting for... for a while now."
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Samantha reflected on the new chapter in her life, saying she has always wanted to become a mother and is approaching the journey with gratitude and purpose. "It's definitely new and exciting. But I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. I've always wanted to be a mother. So I know that I'll be giving this my all," she said.
The actor added that while she has always been passionate about everything she does, motherhood has brought her a renewed sense of strength. "Now I feel I carry a different, new kind of strength and purpose in me. I'm looking forward to this journey a lot. And I'm filled with gratitude, learning every day, and getting ready to embrace whatever comes next," she said.
Samantha also reflected on the legacy she hopes to leave behind through her work. Rather than awards or box office numbers, she said she hopes her performances continue to resonate with audiences years later. "If someone watches one of my films 20 years from now and feels hope, courage or joy, that would mean far more to me than any statistic or award," she said, adding that she hopes to be remembered as someone who took risks, believed in meaningful stories, and contributed to making cinema more inclusive.
Speaking about what drives her as an actor, Samantha said the creative process and audience response are inseparable. While discovering and inhabiting a character remains the most fulfilling part of filmmaking for her, she believes a performance only finds its true meaning when it connects with viewers.
The actor is fresh off the success of Maa Inti Bangaaram, which recently crossed the Rs 100-crore mark at the worldwide box office. Samantha is also gearing up for her upcoming projects while preparing to embrace motherhood.
