Actor Malavika Mohanan played a small role in the Atharvaa-Preity Mukhundhan starrer Idhayam Murali, directed and produced by Aakash Baskaran. Earlier this Wednesday, Malavika revealed what she liked the most about her cameo in the film. At the top of her favourite things about it is the opportunity it provided her with dressing up as a bride from Tamil Nadu.
Idhayam Murali reunited Malavika with her Master costume designer Pallavi Singh. Sharing multiple photographs featuring her clad in a bridal outfit for the film, Malavika tagged her stylist and wrote, "This is the first time you’ve dressed me up for a film after Master and it was so lovely doing this pretty look together."
Second on her list of favourite things for Idhayam Murali is the combination scene with Fahadh Faasil in it. Malavika described it as "a fun scene with FaFa" and added, "We’ve been friends since years and keep talking about finding the right film to do together but for now this cameo will have to suffice I guess."
It is worth noting that Malavika Mohanan and Fahadh Faasil have a connection built on their shared roots in Malayalam cinema. Malavika's father KU Mohanan is a cinematographer known for his work in films, such as Talaash, Raees, and Andhadhun, to name some. On the other hand, Fahadh's father Fazil is a renowned director and also an actor in Malayalam cinema. The two were cast as lead actors in a film back in 2015, but it was shelved after partially completing its production.
Malavika also added, "Working with the young, fun crew of Idhayam Murali fully felt like being-back-in-college energy."
Besides Atharvaa, Malavika, Preity and Fahadh, the film stars Kayadu Lohar, Natty, Thaman S, Niharika NM, Sudhakar of Parithabangal fame, and Dravid Selvam, among others.
