A week since the release of Gatta Kusthi 2, the film is inching towards collecting Rs 30 crore worldwide. To celebrate both the commercial success and the audience appreciation of the film, a thanksgiving meet took place in Chennai on Thursday.
At the Thanksgiving meet, one of the producers of the film, Ishari Ganesh of Vels Film International, presented Vishnuu Vishal with a BMW 3 series car. The film's director was gifted with a 10 g gold chain and bracelet while the rest of the artists received 40 g silver coins each. Interestingly, Vishnuu Vishal is also one of the producers of the film.
Following this the Ratsasan actor became emotional as he opened up about the film's success on stage. Speaking about the past week, Vishnuu said, "It was a very exciting journey. Today’s audience is smart and sharp, and they watch cinema with a lot of love. There is very little room for mistakes now. It is a challenge to satisfy the audience and even outsmart them. Gatta Kusthi 2 is a simple film, but audiences have celebrated and enjoyed it immensely."
The actor then spoke about why the victory feels more special. "If I am standing here after an 18-year journey, despite making different kinds of films and succeeding, the reason is the audience. Thank you so much for never giving up on me," he explained.
The actor further became emotional and expressed gratitude to the audience for the success. "This victory has given me a lot of confidence. To be honest, after Gatta Kusthi, the last two or three years did not go as planned. Many things got delayed, and I even started worrying that the audience might have forgotten me. But seeing this success, I feel confident that this film will gross at least Rs 50 crore. It has given me faith that the audience has not forgotten me and still has a lot of love for me."
Helmed by Chella Ayyavu, the film also stars Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunaas, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, Lizzie Antony, Gajaraj, Sreeja Ravi, Karunakaran, Zara Zyanna, and Mokksha, among others. The film features technical work by cinematographer KM Bhaskaran, editor Barath Vikraman and composer Sean Roldan.
