Vishnuu Vishal's latest film Gatta Kusthi 2 has been receiving positive response from across Tamil Nadu with the sports comedy drama crossing Rs 22 crore within three days of release. While word-of-mouth reviews have been promising, especially on social media, the actor has also been receiving significant hate and trolling on these platforms for various reasons.
Standing firmly against online negativity, the Aaryan actor said he was "saddened" by the comments on various platforms. "I don't want to get into the details of it as I don't want to politicise the issue. We've come for a good cause. People have shared their positive verdict on the film. Like I said earlier, I have expressed my stance on social media hate. I am once again reiterating that I don't like this and we should all take a firm stance against it," he said, while speaking to the press after attending a screening of his film at the Rotary Club in Chennai.
"I will always take a stand against it, because targetting someone personally isn't right. It is not good for the society as well. While we say that the society has to change for the good, we see the opposite unfolding on social media," he added.
A few days earlier, the actor addressed similar comments at an interview and said, "We are in that era where even Rajini sir has to say, 'I have nothing against Vijay' when he stays silent on social media for four days. Otherwise, he is also criticised. It's so painful to see this."
Gatta Kusthi 2, which is currently running in theatres, sees the return Aishwarya Lekshmi as Keerthi and Vishnuu as Veera. Kaali Venkat, Karunaas and Munishkanth have reprised their roles along with Lizie Antony, Gajaraj and Sreeja Ravi. Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu are the newcomers to the sequel. Karunakaran, Mokksha and child actor Zara Zyanna are also part of the film. In the sequel, Veera keeps his promise to support Keerthi's wrestling career, becoming a house husband while she pursues her dreams. Their differing parenting styles and concerns over their daughter Mathi Malar's future strain their marriage, forcing Keerthi to sacrifice her career. As their relationship falls apart and divorce looms, the family must confront what truly matters.
