

Actor Vikram Prabhu's latest film Sirai from director Suresh Rajakumari has turned out to be a commercially successful venture at the box office as the courtroom drama has minted over Rs 31 crore globally. Made at a modest budget of Rs 3 crore, the film's revenue increased manifold since its release on December 25 last year, thanks to positive word-of-mouth reviews and critical ratings.
Seven Screen Studio, which backed the film, shared that the film, which also stars LK Akshay Kumar in a pivotal role, has made Rs 31.58 crore worldwide at the end of its theatrical run. The makers also expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming love poured on their film by audiences.
Out of the Rs 31.58 crore, Sirai minted Rs 27.27 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs 0.31 crore from Kerala, Rs 1.05 crore from Karnataka and Rs 2.95 crore from overseas markets.
The film also stars Anishma Anilkumar and Anantha in a supporting roles. LK Akshay Kumar is the son of producer SS Lalit Kumar, who backed the film under his Seven Screen Studios banner. Anishma Anilkumar plays Akshay’s romantic interest, while Anantha stars opposite Vikram Prabhu.
Sirai marked the directorial debut of Suresh Rajakumari who was a former associate of Vetri Maaran. The film has a story from Taanakkaran fame Tamizh. Tamizh and Suresh have penned the script for the film.
The film featured a strong technical crew, with music composed by Justin Prabhakaran, cinematography by Madesh Manickam and editing by Philomin Raj. Action sequences have been choreographed by stunt director Prabhu. Arun K and Manikandan served as executive producers. The film will be out on OTT platform ZEE5 on January 23.
