Actor LK Akshay Kumar, who made his debut with Sirai, took to social media to address the positive reception that the film has been recieving. Sirai, which also stars Vikram Prabhu and Anishma Anilkumar, was released on December 25.
Taking to his X handle, the actor wrote, "Couldn't have asked for a better start!! This movie is very close to my heart and the response from the audience is closer! Witnessing the tears, smiles, claps, whistles and hugs is all that we worked for and I can strongly say it's all paying off. Reading all your messages and watching the reels has been truly overwhelming (you guys made me cry as well)."
He added, "So thankful to end 2025 with just positivity and love and thank you for Abdul." Akshay concluded the note by writing, "Cheers and happy new year, A."
Sirai is produced by Akshay's father SS Lalit Kumar, under his Seven Screen Studios banner. The film is written by Tamizh, who previously directed Taanakkaran, reuniting him with Vikram Prabhu.
