The other day actor Soori watched Palamedu Jallikattu and presented Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin with a bull statue as a memento at the competition. An X user shared his interaction with Udhayanidhi and alleged that the actor has been 'bought' by the government. Soori was quick to respond to the user's negative comment. In his response, he wrote a few poetic lines in Tamil, which translate to the following.
"Brother, the true identity of a Tamilian is the culture of speaking with respect, without degrading anyone. Just because something gets attention, everything that is said does not become the truth. If there is dignity, there must also be responsibility to match it," he wrote.
The actor also claimed that the user's allegations are baseless, which he says makes them mere noise. "In cinema, the journey of a film is not decided by money, politics, or by those who talk the loudest. Today, in cinema, content is king," the actor wrote. He added, "And the ones who decide that are not the noise-makers, but people from all walks of life who watch it. If it’s good, it will stand on its own; if it isn’t, nothing can save it. That is justice. That is the truth."
Subsequently, the user expressed his regret and said that he meant it as a sarcastic jibe at 'fanatics' who make an uproar seeing negative reviews to a film when it releases that just happened to be aimed at the actor. He acknowledged the user's expression of regret but at the same time called the user out for hiding behind a fake ID.
On the work front, Soori has the big-budget actioner Mandaadi waiting for release.
