Ahead of his film Vaa Vaathiyaar's release, its producer, KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, talked about the Karthi starrer, the discourse surrounding its delayed release, and the overall climate within the film industry. The film's release got delayed allegedly due to a financial dispute between him and a businessperson. According to Gnanavel Raja, "there is much negativity and toxicity" in an industry that is supposed to entertain people. The producer dismissed reports about his dues that allegedly contributed to the delayed release and said that he is "the only producer without any debt to repay in the industry". The producer also said that people who claim that he is "a poor guy in a lot of trouble" are quite dangerous. "Nobody is a poor guy here; everyone is in a good state and will continue to remain so. This year will be superb for all," the producer said.

The Vaa Vaathiyaar producer also expressed his gratitude to multiple personalities from Tamil cinema for their support to him and his film, including Suriya and Jana Nayagan producer Venkat K Narayana. Gnanavel Raja said that Suriya is a genuine person, unlike those who call him brother onstage and then betray him elsewhere. "Unlike them, he supported me and stood by me. I do not know whether any other hero in world cinema show such affection for a producer. He gave me strength and made the tough process simple and gave me all the help," he said about Suriya.

Calling it a festival entertainer for family audiences, the producer said that the film's runtime is 2 hours and 9 minutes. He conveyed his best wishes to team Jana Nayagan and producer Kannan Ravi's Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil, starring Jiiva. He said that Kannan Ravi offered him much support as he felt the pressure of having multiple releases at the same time for Pongal, and attributed the timing of the releases beyond anyone's control. "Both films should taste success at the box office," he said referring to the Karthi and Jiiva starres.
