Kamal Haasan hails Parasakthi a "war drum" for the DMK-MNM alliance: 'I not only want the film to win, but...'

After issuing a strong statement following censor issues faced by Jana Nayagan and Parasakthi, actor-politician Kamal Haasan has praised the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer, expressing his desire to see the film succeed and gave his blessings. In a letter addressed to Deputy Chief Minister and former actor Udhayanidhi Stalin, Kamal Haasan said he had not anticipated, before watching the film, that it would emerge as a powerful "war drum" for the upcoming election faced by his Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and Stalin's Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance.

Calling the film’s success not just a wish but a heartfelt blessing, Kamal Haasan stated that Parasakthi stands as a "victorious crown" added to the history of the DMK.

For the unversed, Kamal Haasan had struck with the DMK during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections following which the actor was elected to the Rajya Sabha. He was declared elected to the Upper House on June 12, unopposed, along with three candidates put up by the ruling DMK and two candidates nominated by the opposition party AIADMK. Their alliance will face the upcoming Tamil Nadu state elections in April–May 2026.

In the same note he wrote on Saturday, Kamal Haasan extended special appreciation to director Sudha Kongara for the biopic's compelling narrative, and to Sivakarthikeyan for choosing the story, dedicating himself to it, and steering it towards success. He also expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela, and all the actors for becoming part of what he termed a "cinematic history."

Further, Kamal Haasan lauded the film’s technical team, including cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, music composer GV Prakash, editor Sathish Surya, and all others who contributed to the project.
