Sreeleela, who is all set to make her Tamil debut with Sivakarthikeyan's Parasakthi, has opened up about working with the film's director, Sudha Kongara. In an interview with Cineulagam, the actor spoke about the filmmaker's female characters and her writing style.

Speaking about characters, she said, "Female characters are very real in Sudha ma'am's films. In her films, women don't just appear for romance or a song. Her format is altogether different. She gives a lot of importance to her female characters, and they're always portrayed to be free and real. There's no stereotypical portrayal of women in her films. I love that all her women are vocal and real, like the women we see in our day-to-day lives."

Further, Sreeleela also spoke about playing a Madurai-based girl in Parasakthi. "I am not sure if I manifested it, but from a very young age, I have been very fond of the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple. In fact, when I was a child, I even performed Bharatanatyam in the temple premises. So I have always felt a connection with Madurai. I also love parrots and really enjoy the Madurai slang. And of course, the food in Madurai. There is a line in the film that goes, 'Sapadu naa Madurai la dhaan.' I had parottas, idlies and dosas, and I especially loved a jackfruit dish, though I am unable to recollect its name."

Also starring Ravi Mohan and Atharvaa, Parasakthi is Sudha Kongara's fourth film after Drohi, Irudhi Suttru, and Soorarai Potru. Sudha has written the film along with Arjun Nadesan, with an additional screenplay by Ganeshaa and dialogues by Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy. The crew of the film includes GV Prakash as the music composer, Ravi K Chandran as the cinematographer and Sathish Surya as the editor. Aakash Baskaran is producing the film under his Dawn Pictures banner.

Dev Ramnath is serving as the creative producer, along with MP Senthel and Rhea Kongara, who are serving as executive producers. Red Giant Movies is distributing the film. Upon release on January 10,Parasakthiwill compete with Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, at the box office. The latter is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9.
