Sivakarthikeyan and director Sivakumar Murugesan have already locked in their third collaboration. After presenting the filmmaker's upcoming debut directorial Thaai Kizhavi, the actor will be starring in Seyon, an announcement for which came last week. But Sivakarthikeyan has now revealed that he will be headlining another film for the director.
Exact details of the project remains unknown and it has also not been revealed if he will be starting the project immediately after Seyon as he currently has two projects SK26 with Venkat Prabhu and another project with Cibi Chakravarthi in the pipeline.
Sharing the announcement during the pre-release event of Thaai Kizhavi, which hits screens on February 27, Sivakarthikeyan said, "When I heard the narration of Seyon from Sivakumar, I thoroughly enjoyed the first half. However, it was only in the second half that I knew this had to be made into a film. It doesn't matter as to who the hero is in this film. To me, all the actors in the cast are stars. I immediately said yes. This is the first time we have signed a director for two films."
The actor also shared that he didn't say yes to another project after watching Thaai Kizhavi, but knew he had to collaborate after hearing the narration. "Everyone thought I said yes to another film after watching Thaai Kizhavi's output, but I knew I had to work with him on the first day of hearing the narration. I liked the rural script as it resonated with me. It felt as though I was going to my hometown. I like his genuine emotions in his script. After Seyon, I will once again work with Sivakumar Murugesan. This is not for the results or box office collections, but I truly respect his genuine intentions," he said.
Headlined by Radikaa Sarathkumar, Thaai Kizhavi also stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Ilavarasu, Muthukumar, George Maryan, and Raichal Rabecca. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram's Passion Studios and presented by Sivakarthikeyan's SK Productions.
Meanwhile, Seyon, a rural drama, has been slated for an October release in theatres worldwide. Kamal Haasan's RKFI is producing the film alongside Mahendran in association with Turmeric Media. It marks the second collaboration between RKFI and Sivakarthikeyan after Rajkumar Periasamy's action drama Amaran (2024).
