Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and starring Sivakarthikeyan, has been slated for an October release in theatres worldwide. Earlier this Tuesday, marking actor Sivakarthikeyan's birthday, producer Kamal Haasan's banner, Raaj Kamal Films International, announced the release window with a video that teases the premise of their upcoming film. Dedicating it to his fans and well wishers, Sivakarthikeyan shared the video on social media.

The clip begins with an intense discussion about the arrival of a God-like character to a police station on the second day of the Maasi Kalari Festival at Karumathur Virumandi Temple. An inspector (Aruldoss) arrives at the station following a major fight at the festival. A group of youngsters tell the inspector that someone hit them after they flashed laser lights at the festival dancers, whereas a festival committee member says that the same person hit him as well. A prisoner says, referring to the character whom the others build up, "He is the one who channels God."

Soon afterwards, we see the arrival of Sivakarthikeyan's character, who receives God-like treatment. A woman pours water at his feet, whereas the inspector stands with hands closed in reverence of him. When his subordinate asks him why he is praying to the character, the inspector replies, "This is Lord Virumandi".

Soon, the character hits someone down on to the ground as the latter questions his intentions. An old lady exclaims, "The OG is back". It is worth noting that Virumandi refers to Kamal Haasan's titular character in the 2004 film, in which he starred and directed.

Sivakarthikeyan's next titled Seyon

Seyon brings director Sivakumar Murugesan back together with his upcoming film Thaai Kizhavi's producer Sivakarthikeyan. It also reunites the star with producer Kamal Haasan after 2024's Amaran. Whether it an intentional throwback or not, a man from the Seyon clip says in reference to Sivakarthikeyan's character in the film, "He was just serving in the Army and going to protests. They dragged him into this." This seems to serve as a reference to the actor's previous two films, Amaran, where he plays an Army officer and Parasakthi, in which he portrays the leader of a revolution against Hindi imposition.

The clip also shows Bala Saravanan as one of the key members of the cast.

Kamal is producing the film with R Mahendran. On the technical front, it has composer Santhosh Narayanan, cinematographer Vivek Vijayakumar, editor San Lokesh, stunt director Supreme Sundar, art director RK Nagu, and costume designers Keerthy Sampath and Joshua Maxwell J.
