Earlier, we reported about Radikaa Sarathkumar portraying an elderly woman's character in her upcoming film Thaai Kizhavi, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. Recently, Radikaa talked about getting into her character's shoes.

Speaking to Galatta Plus, the actor said that she watches Kamal Haasan's films every day and is a massive admirer of Kamal and his comedy films. The actor also remembered one insightful comment that Kamal made to her during their past conversation. "Let the character be the person on screen, not you," Kamal once told Radikaa. The actor said that she has put this advice into practice for her role in Thaai Kizhavi.

Specifically, Radikaa Sarathkumar revealed that she played the role by assuming that it is some other actor portraying it, not her. This has something to do with her insistence on a complete prosthetic transformation for the role instead of a mere "old lady" look. The actor is virtually unrecognisable in the posters for the film. Recently, Kamal shared that he found her makeover for the character to be amazing. The actor said that she sent her trial makeup photographs to Kamal first and that he responded to her transformation with appreciation.

Kamal and Radikaa starred together in director K Viswanath's 1986 classic Swathi Muthyam. The commercially successful film became India's official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar award.

Coming back to Thaai Kizhavi, the film is slated for a February 20 release in theatres. It also stars Singam Puli, Bala Saravanan, Arul Doss, Munishkanth, George Maryan, Ilavarasu, Raichal Rabecca, Muthukumar, and others.

On the technical front, the film has music by Nivas K Prasanna, who recently earned plenty of appreciation for his work in Mari Selvaraj's Bison, editor San Lokesh, and cinematographer Vivek Vijayakumar.

Vineesh Vijayan handled the prosthetic makeup work for the film, whereas N Chelladurai Alangudi served as its makeup artist.
