Recently, we reported about the makers of the Sidhu Sid starrer The Dark Heaven postponing their film from July 17 to a different date to avoid a clash with Vijay's Jana Nayagan at the box office. At the time, the makers said in a press note that they would announce a new release date for the film, directed by Balaaji. On Thursday, they confirmed September 18 as the new release date for the film.

"The wait is over. Coming this September 18th. See you all in theatres," the makers wrote as the caption for the announcement post. The film is also expected to have dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi and English, judging by the text in the recent trailer and the latest poster.

The Dark Heaven also stars Tharshika in the female lead. The cast includes Rithvika, Nizhalgal Ravi, Jayakumar Janakiraman, Vela Ramamoorthy, Chaplin Babu, Manoj, Dany Dayal, Alex, Soni, and Aarthi, among others.

The recently released trailer for the film hints at an investigation into multiple murders with a common pattern. It shows a man in a black jacket and mask with a violin in his hand and refers to Dark Heaven as a mysterious book. The trailer promises a suspense thriller with much mystery, action, drama, and typical investigation film tropes. Sidhu Sid's character leads the investigation. "The devil has not gone," reads the tagline for the film in its trailer.

On the technical front, the film has music by Sakthi Balaji, cinematography by Manikandan BK, and editing by Raja Arumugam. It is produced by Kothai Entertainment and MS Swiss Film Factory. Recently, the film completed its censorship process, receiving a U/A 16+ rating from the Censor Board. According to the information on the CBFC listing, it has a runtime of around 147 minutes.
