Actor Jawahar Sakthi spoke exclusively to Cinema Express about his role as Karuppu in DC, the film's lead actor Lokesh Kanagaraj, his special bond with co-star Wamiqa Gabbi and more. Interestingly, Jawahar said that he formed a warm and friendly relationship with Wamiqa on the film's set. At one point in the interview, he said that Wamiqa even presented him with a smartphone. He said that she would approach him, embrace him, and wish him every morning on set.
"I do not mean to say ill about anyone. After I work on a film for a few days and give a light smile to my co-stars, I would not get usually get back the same smile, and that is understandable. It is not a must to be that cheerful on set," the actor said, alluding to how the mood of a film's screenplay plays a part in the on-set atmosphere. On the other hand, he said that Wamiqa Gabbi is different from the rest.
Jawahar Sakthi also described her with adjectives such as 'bold,' 'fire,' 'kind,' and 'cute'. He said, referring to his co-star and her role in DC, "Wamiqa is all of these things. Chandra is a combination of everything. She is a very kind person."
Jawahar said that Wamiqa would think about her character only during the shooting of a particular scene, and that elsewhere, she is her real self. He also spoke about a reel that he shared recently on Instagram featuring him with his co-star. "She was singing a track from Angamaly Diaries. I asked her which song it is, and she replied saying, "It is from a Malayalam film." I then remembered it is from Angamaly Diaries," Jawahar noted.
