A plea has been filed at the Madras High Court to restrain the release of Dhanush's upcoming film, Kara. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the film is set to release on April 30.
The pleas is regarding the upcoming Dhanush-starrer, and a film with a similar sounding title, Karaa, which stars Master Mahendran in the lead. Producer Vengai Ayyanar, who is part of the film, claims that he had registered the title Karaa with the Tamil Film Producer's Council (TFPC), three years back.
But he claims that even after raising this matter with the TFPC, to urge a title change for the Dhanush-starrer, no action has been taken.
In his petition the producer seeks to urge the makers behind Dhanush's Kara, so as to not confuse fans and viewers. A hearing regarding this matter is expected to take place tomorrow.
Karaa is directed by Avatar, and is billed as 'India's Biggest Crocodile Movie'. The cast of the film also includes Sahiba Bhasin, Jeeva Thangavel, Kimaya, Mottey Rajendran, Salem Vengai K Aiyanar, Robo Ganesan, Premnath, Gul Renjith, Virali, Guna Jee, Varghese Mathew, Yamini Joshi, Vijay Prasad.
Meanwhile Kara, which is set during the fuel crises due to the onset of the Gulf War of 1991, also features Mamitha Baiju, Karunaas, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Jayaram, MS Bhaskar, Sreeja Ravi, Prithvi Pandiarajan, and KS Ravikumar.
