There has been a significant greater voter turnout in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Election as compared to the past election. According to the latest reports, the turnout has exceeded 82 per cent as of 6:00 PM today. Many attribute the higher turnout to the fact that actor Vijay is contesting in the election for the CM's post this time around under his party TVK. Singer Srinivas also weighed in on 'the Vijay factor' in the election.
"Looks like the battle is between DMK and TVK. Vijay is a force that is here to stay,I think, whether you like it or not . Don’t know about Western TN where the AIADMK is a force . I have a feeling that this election is about the Vijay factor whether he comes to power or not," Srinivas said.
Vijay has contested in two constituencies in the election: Perambur in Chennai and Tiruchirappalli East. While some actors openly expressed their support to the superstar and TVK chief in their social media posts, others hinted at where their allegiances lie. For example, Arun Vijay and Trisha pinned songs from Vijay's films in their recent social media posts about the election.
Actors such as Sriman, Sibi Sathyaraj, and Natty have expressed their support to the superstar, who is making his debut in the Legislative Assembly Election in Tamil Nadu.
