Tributes and condolence messages are coming in from all corners of India following the demise of legendary singer Asha Bhosle. Earlier this Sunday, we reported about Kamal Haasan paying a tribute to the iconic singer by referring to his singing collaboration with her in an old film. The latest to talk about her is Kamal's singer-actor daughter Shruti Haasan.
Speaking exclusively to CE, Shruti said, "Asha ji was one of the most iconic and influential voices and a huge inspiration to generations! I count myself to be very blessed to have been in her presence growing up and to see her work and create her magic."
Shruti was referring to not just being surrounded by Asha Bhosle's songs but also singing with her and in front of her. Shruti is one of the singers who worked on Chachi 420. In March 2020, she reshared an old image where her young self can be seen singing right next to Asha.
"Just a picture of Shruti Haasan singing in her uniform. I love this picture I even remember this day and being so so nervous to sing in front of the legend herself! Such a beautiful memory - Thank you so much for sharing Asha Bhosle," she wrote back then.
Reflecting on the legendary singer's legacy during her conversation with CE, Shruti added, "She will always be greatly celebrated for her immense contribution to music."
Asha passed away earlier this Sunday following her hospitalisation for chest infection. She was 92 years old at the time of death.
