The nomination of Joseph Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, has been accepted for the Perambur constituency ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. The final date for filing nominations was Monday, April 6, following which Vijay’s nomination in Perambur was cleared on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the actor-politician is also contesting from Tiruchirappalli East. However, there has been no update yet on the acceptance of his nomination from that constituency. The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 23.
In the Perambur constituency, a total of 40 candidates have filed nominations, including multiple contenders with the names “Vijay” and “Joseph.” Among them are G Vijay, K Vijay, S Joseph, and M Joseph. Their presence has sparked speculation that these nominations may be a calculated political move aimed at confusing voters.
Meanwhile, on the film front, the actor is awaiting the release of his final film, Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth. The project may face additional review, with reports suggesting possible scrutiny from the Election Commission following recommendations involving the censor authorities.
