Dhanush is currently busy promoting his fourth directorial, Idli Kadai, which comes after Pa Paandi, Raayan and Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam. The film is gearing up to open in theatres on October 1, marking the occasion of Ayudha pooja and capitalising on the holidays surrounding the festival.

Now, the makers of the film have revealed that the film has cleared censorship formalities with a clean 'U' certificate. This makes the film open to children of all age groups, making it possible for the film to attract huge family crowds during the holiday season.

Idli Kadai features an ensemble cast comprising Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Shalini Pandey, Arun Vijay, Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Geetha Kailasam, Samuthirakani and Parthiban, among others. Brigida Saga and Ken Karunas are set to be seen in cameo appearances in the upcoming film.

From the recently released trailer of Idli Kadai, the story seems to revolve around Dhanush's Murugan, who takes the effort to revive and run his father Sivanesan's (Rajkiran) idli shop in a small village amidst conflict and challenges from the antagonist, played by Arun Vijay.

Dhanush's home banner, Wunderbar Studios, is producing the drama along with Aakash Bhaskaran of Dawn Pictures. Dhanush's frequent collaborator, GV Prakash, who recently worked with him on Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, is the music composer for the film. The film's camera work is handled by Kiran Koushik, while editing is by Prasanna GK.

It is to be noted that Idli Kadai was initially slated for April 10, alongside AJith's Good Bad Ugly. It was later pushed to October 1 and will now be facing the box office alongside Rishab Shetty's pan-Indian film, Kantara: A Legend—Chapter 1.
