
Yesterday, we had reported that Anushka Shetty announced her decision to take a break from social media. On Saturday, Aishwarya Lekshmi took to her Instagram page, to announce that she is quitting the social media app.
Posting a long note in her Instagram stories section, Aishwarya penned, “For the longest time, I subscribed to the idea that social media is much needed to keep me in the game.” Talking about the adverse effects of Instagram on her life, the Thug Life actor noted, “It has successfully distracted me from what my work & research should be. It has taken away every original thought from me, affected my vocabulary & language, and made every other simpler pleasure joyless.”
Elaborating on her decision to quit Instagram, Aishwarya added, “I'm taking the risk here to be forgotten, and in today's times, out of the 'gram is out of the mind. So here is me doing the right thing for the artist & the lil girl in me - Keeping her an original & choosing absolute internet obsoleteness. Here's hoping I create more meaningful connections & Cinema in life.”
Aishwarya, who began acting in films in 2017, is known for her work across the south Indian film industries, with films like Ponniyin Selvan series, Mayaanadhi, and Ammu among others. She was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life.
Aishwarya’s upcoming projects include Aasha, Gatta Kusthi 2 and Sai Durgha Tej starrer SYG - Sambarala Yeti Gattu.
