Music director, actor and producer Vijay Antony is stepping into new territories. Recently, the multi-talented star has revealed plans to turn his production company Vijay Antony Film Corporation into a public limited company in 2027.
He shared the announcement during the pre-release event of his upcoming film Shakthi Thirumagan, directed by Arun Prabu of Aruvi and Vaazhl fame. "I have been calling and giving opportunities to a lot of new and young directors. In fact, it was I who called Romeo director Vinayak (to work with him on a film). Likewise, it was I who called director Joshua," he said, sharing details on why he made the decision.
"I, with my individual strength, can produce only four or five films in a year. But I want to help more people. I want to motivate more new youngsters and bring out more good content," he said, adding that he plans to back films in other languages also. "I need to have more (financial) strength for this. That will not be possible by just Vijay Anotony's strength. That strength will come only if Vijay Antony Film Corporation becomes a public limited company. Therefore, Vijay Antony Film Corporation will turn a public limited company in 2027," he added.
Shakthi Thirumagan is a neo-political drama which also stars Trupthi Ravindra, Vaagai Chandrasekar, Master Keshav, and Cell Murugan. It also marks the return of actor Sunil Kriplani, best known for his role in director Bharathiraja's 1982 film Kadhal Oviyam. Apart from lead actor, Vijay Antony is the music composer for the film and has also produced it under his banner. The film is slated for a release on September 19.
Up next, he also has Lawyer, helmed by Joshua Sethuraman. Valli Mayil, Agni Siragugal and Khakhee are awaiting release. He is also reuniting with director Sasi, nine years after Pichaikkaran for Nooru Saami. Meanwhile, on the production front, he is bankrolling Ajay Dhishan's Pookie.
