Composer-Singer Sai Abhyankkar, who made both his Tamil and Malayalam debut as music director, recently expressed interest to work with Vijay. Sai, who has been receiving much praise for his score and songs in Pradeep Ranganathan's latest film Dude, recently responded to a user who said that he "misses his combo with Thalapathy", to which he replied, "Even me."
With Vijay planning to hang his acting boots after H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan, it is unsure how Sai Abhyankkar and Vijay's collaboration would take place.
Sai Abhyankkar has been at the centre of limelight since he found fame through his singles ‘Katchi Sera’ and ‘Aasa Kooda’. Since then, he has been lapping up projects with A-listers headlining it. Among his upcoming films are Raghava Lawrence's Benz, Suriya-RJ Balaji's Karuppu, Karthi's Marshal and Atlee's upcoming film with Allu Arjun (AA22×A6). He recently made his Malayalam cinema debut with Shane Nigam's Balti.
Jana Nayagan, Vijay's last film before his full-time stint in politics stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Reba Monica John, Monisha Blessy, Baba Bhaskar, Teejay Arunasalam, Nizhalgal Ravi, Revathi, Srinath, Irfan Zaini, and Arun Kumar Rajan, among others. The film is slated for release in theatres for the festive occasion of Pongal next year on January 9.
