At a recent promotional event of Dude in Coimbatore, Pradeep Ranganathan's latest entertainer, an accident-like situation caused a brief chaos at a private college.
The incident occurred after several college fans rushed toward the stage to click pictures with Pradeep, causing a brief stampede-like situation that led to the stage collapsing. However, none were hurt in the incident. Videos of the accident have been shared widely on social media.
Meanwhile, the romantic action-entertainer has been having a dream run at the box office, collecting over Rs 100 crore worldwide. Apart from Tamil, the film has also been earning significant revenue in the Telugu states as well. Dude marks the highest opening in Pradeep’s career with Rs 10 crore in revenue, surpassing his previous films Dragon and Love Today, which earned Rs 7.6 crore and Rs 2.85 crore respectively on their first day of release.
Despite garnering mixed reactions from audiences and critics, Dude has been running with packed houses in theatres, and was praised immensely for its entertaining storyline and screenplay by debutant director Keerthiswaran. Dude also stars Mamitha Baiju, Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, and Dravid Selvam, among others. It is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, with Anil Yerneni serving as the co-producer. Mythri Movie Makers has backed the film.
This is Sai Abhyankkar's Tamil cinema debut as a composer. The rest of the crew of the film includes Niketh Bommi as the cinematographer, Barath Vikraman as the editor, Latha Naidu as the production designer, and Yannick Ben and Dinesh Subbarayan as the stunt choreographers.
